Navigating COVID-19, Together

This is an interesting and stressful time for our fellow friends in the film community. COVID-19 has halted most productions across the country, whether they be commercial, television, or narrative projects, and that has left a lot of the industry’s freelancers out of work for an unforeseeable amount of time.

In addition to the sudden spike in unemployment in the production community, we are now needing to stay indoors and minimize social interactions. When you’re confined to your home, it’s easy to feel disconnected from your friends and team.

When money is tough and your social life is non-existent, it can be hard to stay positive, especially with this unfamiliar and uncertain situation at foot. But we want you to know that we are here for you. As an industry and as fellow filmmakers, we need to band together to lift each others’ spirits. So if you’re feeling down, please reach out. Or if you’re taking this time to self reflect and maybe work on that passion project you haven’t had the chance to focus on, drop us a line – we’d love to hear about it!

It might not seem like much, but maintaining a sense of community is key during a time like this, and  keeping lines of communication open is a great way to do it.

Stay safe and stay healthy, friends. We’ve got this.

Love,

The Hike Team
