Looking Back on 2021 and Forward to 2022

And, that’s a wrap on 2021! As we look forward to what’s next, we always like to reminisce on the past. 2021 was filled with great new partnerships and a bit of travel.  Here are the highlights: 

In February, we packed our bags for a week in Boston where we collaborated with Geist Films and Nteractive to craft content for New Balance. While on the east coast, we got to work with some amazingly talented people including the team at Red Sky Studios. We also enjoyed a few dozen oysters, which is always a win.

Throughout the year, our video production team collaborated with Chicago-based and woman-owned CBD brand Equilibria on a handful of fun shoots. Together we crafted how-to videos, a brand film, and spots for the brand’s 2021 holiday campaign. 

In July, we joined forces with our friends at Dearing Group for Franciscan Health’s “Inspiring Women” campaign. Our team hit the highway for a quick road trip to Indiana, where we got to meet and work with 2009 Miss America, Katie Irk, as the face of the spots. 

We took another road trip to Michigan in September to shoot a docu-style brand film for Saugatuck Brewing Company.  Over the course of the shoot, we got to experience pure Michigan – beaches, dunes, lakes, sunshine, and of course – some great summer beer! 

The close of summer was busy, complete with a digital campaign for AbbVie and a quick trip to Houston.  Throughout August and September, we collaborated with the creatives at FleishmanHillard to produce content for AbbVie’s 2021 HereNow Campaign. Production spanned multiple days in Chicago, as well as a shoot in Boise, ID, which our team produced fully remotely. After that, we teamed up with our friends at Geist Films and traveled down to Houston to capture a docu-style piece for BP. The team for this was nimble, but like many travel shoots we had the opportunity to meet and work with new and talented creatives, as well as try some truly delicious food.

But all of this fun calls for some hydration – so we collaborated with Chicago-based brand, Open Water, to craft social spots that feature the brand’s mission of More Ocean, Less Plastic in a visually engaging way.  We are honored to announce this work won a silver Davey Award.

In 2021, we branched into new markets, opening offices in Austin and LA. With our expansion to Austin came a collaboration with Elevé Cosmetics. We worked with the brand to develop fun, punchy, social spots to highlight some of their key products.

As we continue to navigate the pandemic, our team continues to incorporate COVID compliance into every shoot. We’re thankful for the wonderful CCOs we worked with this year, as well as our agency partners who navigated various types of remote set ups with us, helping to keep sets safe with minimal footprints.  

It’s been a year of learning, growing, and fun – and we’re looking forward to what’s next. To all our production friends and family, may the new year bring you success and joy. Stay safe and healthy, and we’re looking forward to a beautiful 2022!
