BTS with Hike: Heidenhain Engineering

We loved collaborating with the talented creatives at LoSasso Integrated Marketing for our Heidenhain video. A lot of love (and VFX) went into this narrative brand film. If you haven’t seen it, you might want to give it a watch

Our concept told the story of a university professor engaging with a lecture hall full of engineering students. They discuss what makes a good engineer:  Math skills? Creativity? Curiosity? It turns out – all three! The professor proceeds to tell the students about Heidenhain and how its technologies power and transform the world.

Since the narrative focused on students learning about Heidenhain through a college lecture, location was key. After scouting several different universities, we found a modern and spacious lecture hall (which just happened to have Heidenhain-green seats) at the beautiful East-West University.

Our friends at Simian helped us elevate the story by designing VFX assets structured off of actual Heidenhain CAD designs. In the video, the students engage with these Heidenhain designs and marvel at their complexity, adding whimsy and playfulness to the scene. We used Quasars to provide practical lighting during production, and Simian was able to composite the VFX assets into the scene seamlessly, as if a plane had really flown through the East-West lecture hall!

This video we produced told an inspirational brand story about solving problems in a way that’s smarter, not harder.  A big thanks to the LoSasso team for letting us help bring this story to life!
